SCHIERMONNIKOOG EASY GOING

The departure point is Lauwersoog, where a passenger boat departs from the fishing harbor. After a short voyage, you reach the sandbank called Brakzand, in the middle of the Wadden Sea. Here, you disembark from the boat. A walk of approximately 3.5 hours, mainly over hard sand, will take you to the island of Schiermonnikoog. You will land near the foot of the ferry dam. Nearby are facilities for rinsing and changing clothes. If you opt for a longer hike, you can walk more eastward on the island via the Willemsduin. Upon arrival on Schiermonnikoog, you can walk (or take the bus) to the only village on the island. The rest of the day is free to spend on the island. You can decide when to take the ferry back to Lauwersoog.

  (Parking is available here on Saturdays and Sundays between 07:00-22:00. Other times: paid parking at P1, P2, or P3).

• Price per person: €42.50. Includes boat trip to Brakzand. Excludes transportation costs on the island and the ferry back to Lauwersoog

NB: You need to book a ticket for the ferry back to Lauwersoog yourself online or via the payment terminals in the departure hall. To ensure a ticket for the return journey, it is advisable to book in advance via wpd.nl.
